Eye Movement Mastery
Capture Invisible Balance Signals
Balance relies on signals between the inner ear, eyes, and brain. When this system misfires, people may feel spinning, drifting, blurred vision, or unsteadiness. ENG and VNG assess eye movements linked to balance function. These tests are often used to evaluate vertigo, dizziness, imbalance, or disturbances triggered by head movement or changes in position.

Decode Dizziness with Eye Precision
ENG and VNG are vestibular tests that measure involuntary eye movements, known as nystagmus, which reflect how the balance organs are functioning. During testing, we record eye movements as you follow visual targets, change head position, or respond to gentle inner-ear stimulation. VNG uses infrared video goggles, while ENG uses surface electrodes.
At Harley AVM, testing is conducted in a controlled clinic environment under the supervision of experienced clinicians. The tests are non-invasive and safe, though some people may feel brief dizziness. Results help identify whether balance symptoms originate from one ear, both ears, or central pathways, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Vestibular Vision Vanguard
Assessment starts with a detailed history, ear examination, and targeted hearing or balance tests. We consider symptom triggers, duration, and associated features before recommending ENG or VNG as part of the evaluation.
Management remains non-surgical in most cases. Results guide vestibular rehabilitation, medical treatment, or reassurance where appropriate. Further investigation or referral is considered only when symptoms persist, worsen, or significantly affect daily function and safety.
Steady Steps Start with Us
At Harley Street Audiovestibular Clinic, ENG and VNG testing is interpreted within an expert audiovestibular framework rather than in isolation. Our team focuses exclusively on hearing and balance disorders, allowing us to link eye-movement findings with symptoms, continuity of care, and personalised treatment planning. We prioritise clear explanations, so you understand what the results mean and what they do not.
Testing and follow-up are coordinated through a single clinic, with access to additional vestibular care when needed. If dizziness, vertigo, or imbalance continues or feels unexplained, we invite you to book an assessment, request a call back, or submit an enquiry to discuss next steps with our team.
