Hearing Therapy in London

Vertigo Clinic London

Need Hearing Therapy?

Our hearing therapy service is designed for adults who are finding it difficult to adjust to hearing loss, tinnitus, or hyperacusis.

At your first appointment, you’ll meet with an audiologist who has specialist training in hearing loss, tinnitus, hyperacusis, and advanced rehabilitation techniques. This session is an assessment, aimed at helping us understand your specific concerns and challenges.

You’ll be asked to complete a questionnaire and talk with us about how your hearing issues are affecting your life. We’ll also give you detailed information about the available management options. You will then return for a second appointment where we’ll work with you to create a personalised management plan tailored to your needs.

Therapy usually involves 5 to 10 sessions, and your commitment to the process is important. Much of the progress happens between sessions, as you apply the techniques and strategies we explore together.

If you are struggling because of your hearing loss, hearing aids, tinnitus, hyperacusis (sensitivity to sound) or balance problems, your consultant may discuss referral to a Hearing therapist.

Hearing therapists can support you with the following:

  • Counselling to help with the psychological and emotional effect of hearing loss.
  • Advising on practical solutions to help you in your work and social life, including any products that may help.
  • Auditory training to make listening easier.
